Apple Stuffed French Toast
2 slices light bread
1 egg
1 tbs milk
1/2 cup corn flakes
1/4 cup apple pie filling (chop the apples into small bite size pieces)
Lay two slices of bread out on counter. Spread apple pie filling onto one piece of bread. Lay the second piece of bread on top of the apple pie filling to form a sandwich. In a small bowl beat egg and milk together. In a second bowl, place the crushed cornflakes. Carefully lower the apple pie sandwich into the egg mixture. When both sides of the apple french toast sandwich is coated on both siddes, carefully place the sandwich into the cornflake mixture. Move to coat throroughly.
On a hot griddle or skillet, place the breaded apple sandwich on the griddle (using a small amount of pam if using a non stick pan). Cook until golden brown on one side. Then flip and cook on the second side.
Serve with butter and syrup. Can be topped with powdered sugar for presentation.
